The Role: Founding Engineer
You'll own critical systems end-to-end. Build our real-time conversation pipeline. Ship AI models that understand sales nuance. Create infrastructure that handles millions of calls. Your code will directly impact how contractors across America do business.
This is employee #10 with a clear path to technical leadership. Work directly with founders who deeply understand both technology and the market. Shape architecture decisions that define the company.
What You'll Do
- Build Core AI Infrastructure: Design and implement our real-time conversation processing pipeline, from audio ingestion to AI-powered insights generation.
- Ship Product Daily: Move fast from idea to production — build features, test with customers, iterate based on feedback, and ship improvements continuously.
- Own the Full Stack: From React frontends to Python/Node backends to ML model deployment — you'll work across the entire technical surface area.
- Scale for Enterprise: Build systems that handle millions of conversations while maintaining sub-second response times and 99.9% uptime.
- Shape Technical Strategy: Work directly with founders on architecture decisions, technology choices, and the engineering roadmap.
Who You Are
- 3-7+ years building production software, ideally at startups or in 0-1 environments
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City for in-person collaboration
- Full-stack engineer who's equally comfortable building React components and training ML models
- Builder mindset — you ship fast, learn from users, and iterate relentlessly
- Experience with AI/ML systems, real-time data processing, or voice/audio technology is a plus
- Obsessed with craft — you care deeply about code quality, user experience, and building something exceptional
- High ownership, low ego — ready to do whatever it takes to make customers successful
