Book a demoWho is Scott Berman?
Scott Berman is the founder and CEO of Florida Window & Door, an impact-window and door company he launched in 2009 and grew to six locations billing more than $100 million a year. He learned the trade working for his father in Ohio in the early 1990s before building his own company in Florida on a systemized, operations-first sales model.

Buying Leaf Home's window divisions
In November 2025, Berman made his biggest move: acquiring the window divisions of four regional businesses that Leaf Home was exiting as it focused on gutter protection. The deal, spanning StormTight Windows in Florida and Texas, Miracle Window & Shower in Jacksonville, and WindowWorks in Illinois, pushed Florida Window & Door into Texas and Illinois for the first time. Notably, Berman financed the entire acquisition through his own company's capital and traditional bank financing, with no outside investors.
Why Scott Berman matters
Berman is a rare case of an independent, self-funded operator acquiring divestitures from one of the industry's largest platforms, and winning national expansion without private equity. As Leaf Home and other giants reshape their portfolios, Berman's deal shows an owner-operator can pick up the pieces and scale on his own balance sheet.
