Book a demoWho is Jenilee Common?
Jenilee Common is the CEO of Leaf Home, one of North America's largest direct-to-consumer home-services companies, known for LeafFilter gutter protection along with roofing, bath, water filtration, and stair lifts. She was named CEO of Erie Home in March 2023, and when Leaf Home acquired Erie Home in September 2025, she became CEO of the combined organization. She is one of the few women running a residential-services company at this scale.

An operator's path to the top
Common did not come up through sales or found the company she now runs. Her background is operations and finance: she spent more than a decade at Owens Corning, a roughly $10 billion building-materials company, rising to VP and General Manager of Roofing Components, after earlier controller roles at Eaton and O-I. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo and an executive MBA from Virginia Tech.
That operator profile is the point. Leaf Home is a scaled, private-equity-backed platform where the job is running a large field organization well, not selling the next roof. Common was handed Erie Home in 2023 to do exactly that, then elevated to run the larger combined company.
Building the combined Leaf Home and Erie Home
The September 2025 combination brought together two complementary direct-to-consumer businesses: Leaf Home's gutter protection, bath, water, and roofing lines, and Erie Home's roofing and basement waterproofing. The result operates more than 300 field offices across 48 states and Canada, with thousands of sales consultants and licensed installers. The deal carried a heavyweight capital structure, with Gridiron Capital holding the majority, Ares leading preferred equity, and Apollo funds leading the debt.
This combination isn't just about scale and efficiency; it's about creating a company that people turn to with confidence.
Why Jenilee Common matters
Common represents a specific model in home services: the professional operator running a PE-backed platform at national scale. Where a founder-CEO sells the vision, her mandate is to make a sprawling field organization run consistently across hundreds of offices. For a home-improvement industry increasingly shaped by private-equity roll-ups, she is one of the clearest examples of who ends up in the CEO seat.
