Book a demoWho is Tammy Whitworth?
Tammy Whitworth is the Chairman and CEO of Window World, the largest replacement-window and exterior-remodeling company in the United States, which runs a franchise network of roughly 211 locations. She and her late husband Todd built the business, buying the corporate parent from Todd's father, founder Leon Whitworth, in 2007. She became CEO in 2010 after Todd died unexpectedly at age 40, and she co-founded the company's philanthropy, Window World Cares.

A CEO overnight
Whitworth did not plan to run the company. She stepped into the CEO role in 2010 as a mother of three, immediately after her husband's sudden death, and chose to lead rather than sell. She later battled and beat breast cancer while running the business.
I became a CEO overnight after the passing of my husband. I was a mother of three children.
Under her leadership, Window World converted to a franchise model in 2011 and grew into a network reporting roughly $1.1 billion in systemwide sales, one of the largest home-improvement brands in the country.
Purpose as the scoreboard
Whitworth measures the company by impact as much as revenue. She co-founded Window World Cares in 2008, inspired by her daughter's premature birth, and it has raised more than $16 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, even opening a named dining room at the Memphis hospital. The company also supports wounded veterans through Veterans Airlift Command.
It has become my life's work.
Why Tammy Whitworth matters
Whitworth is one of the few women leading a billion-dollar brand in a male-dominated home-improvement industry, and she got there under the hardest possible circumstances. Her Window World is a reference point for the franchise model in exterior remodeling, and for building a large consumer brand around a philanthropic mission.
