Why we built it
Ask any great rep where they actually learned to sell and they will describe the same scene: a manager in the passenger seat on a ridealong day, and the conversation on the drive away from the house. What did the homeowner really object to. Where the close slipped. What to try at the next door. That conversation, minutes after the appointment, is where reps get better.
Almost every appointment happens without it. The rep pulls away, replays a moment or two at a red light, and by the next appointment the details are gone. The reflection window closes on the road, and it closes fast.
So we built the call that keeps it open.
One of the first calls made the design click for us. Craft rang a rep on the drive home, minutes after the appointment. By the second question the rep was doing the coaching himself: he named the step he had skipped, worked out why the homeowner went cold, and committed to one change for the next door. The idea came from the rep, which is exactly why it stuck.
Today we are making Coaching Calls generally available to every team on Craft's AI sales coaching tools.
What does coaching miss when it waits?
Most coaching runs on a weekly cadence because that is what manager time allows. The cost is built in: by the time an appointment comes up in a one-on-one, the rep has run ten more, and the moment worth coaching is a vague memory for both people in the room.
Coaching that waits for the one-on-one
- Details fade before anyone talks through them
- Only the appointments a manager flags get discussed
- Feedback arrives after the next appointments already ran
- Reflection depends on a manager having the hour
A coaching call while it is fresh
- Your phone rings within a few hours of the appointment
- Feedback grounded in what was actually said
- Something specific to sharpen before the next door
- Every recorded appointment gets one, automatically
How it works
Turn it on once in the Craft app under AI Coach Settings, and pick the voice you want your coach to have. That is the whole setup. Finish a recorded appointment, and while the details are still fresh your phone rings like any other call. Answer, and your coach walks the appointment with you. The coach asks the questions and you do the talking: reflect on how it went, spot the sales steps you missed, and commit to one specific change for the next appointment.
Craft
It is voice first and hands free, built for the drive between appointments. A coaching call usually takes a few minutes, and it counts toward your review time and streak. Mid-appointment or just not in the mood to talk? Let it ring. Nothing breaks, and your next appointment gets its own call.
Grounded in the appointment you just ran
Your coach heard the appointment. The conversation draws on the recording, the transcript, and how the appointment scored against your company's sales process, so the feedback is about the pricing question in the kitchen, by name, rather than selling in general. Ask "how did I handle the close?" and the answer comes from what you actually said.

Strong walkthrough. When Mrs. Delgado asked about financing you moved to the brochure fast. Want to talk through what she was really asking?
Yeah. How should I have handled that?
Companies shape the coaching too. Admins set the caller name reps see and add their own coaching priorities, so the call reinforces the same process reps are scored on, in the company's own language.
The reps who improve fastest reflect after every conversation.
Coaching Calls make that reflection automatic. No scheduling, no homework, no app to open. Just answer the phone.
What it changes for your team
Reps walk into the next appointment with one specific thing to try, instead of a feeling about the last one. Managers get a team where every rep is coached after every recorded appointment, coverage no calendar could ever provide, and the weekly one-on-one starts from work already in motion. New reps ramp against feedback that arrives the same day they earn it.
Coaching Calls ship as part of Craft's AI sales coaching tools. Teams that roll out Craft coaching typically see a 10 to 20 percent lift in sales, and reflection after every conversation is a core part of how that compounding starts.
Why a phone call
We could have shipped this as another screen: a summary to read, a dashboard to check. But reps sell out loud all day and drive between appointments. A phone call meets them exactly where the reflection window is open, in the car, hands free, minutes after the appointment. There is nothing to open and nothing to remember.
A conversation also does something a report never will. Feedback someone hands you is easy to shrug off; a conclusion you said out loud yourself sticks. The coach's job is to ask the questions that get you there. That is the bet behind Coaching Calls, and behind how we build for reps in general: give the person doing the selling the tools to make themselves better, and the numbers leadership cares about follow.
And the call is one loop in a larger system. Practice in roleplay, run the appointment with your process scored, talk it through while it is fresh, then practice what the call surfaced. Every recorded conversation makes the next piece of coaching sharper.
Common questions
When does the call come?
Within a few hours of a recorded appointment being processed, while the conversation is still fresh. If you are mid-appointment or on another call, Craft waits; if you miss it, your next appointment brings the next coaching call.
Who controls what the coaching focuses on?
Reps own the opt-in and pick their coach's persona and voice. Admins set the caller name and can add company coaching priorities in settings, so the calls pull in the same direction as your scorecards.
